2026 officially marks 50 years since the passing of the US Copyright Act in 1976. To celebrate this anniversary, on Friday, June 26 at 11:00 AM PT, David Advent will lead a presentation and discussion on 50 Years of the Copyright Act: Its History and Its Future

The presentation will cover The Copyright Act’s origins, how different political, social, and cultural forces shaped the actual policy/language of the Act, and how it has evolved in response to developing technologies.
