Western Copyright Alliance was born over drinks at the Kraemer Copyright Conference when leaders of the Copyright First Responder groups in Arizona, California, and the Pacific Northwest got to talking about how to work together to bring regular, high-quality library copyright education to communities in the Western states. From these early conversations our interest grew in exploring the unique challenges and opportunities facing the library copyright community in the Western US. While the leaders of WCA are all facilitators or co-facilitators of their regional or statewide Copyright First Responders networks and works to enable cooperation and cross-pollination between the CFR networks, the WCA is broadly interested in library copyright education in the Western US inclusive of, but not limited to, Copyright First Responders.
